RIB Hull structure
All Gemini Rigid Inflatable hulls are constructed to exceed the specifications on Lloyds for vessels of applicable size and speed. The hull is balsa cored to minimise weight whilst dramatically increasing stiffness, compared to a solid fiber laminate. All balsa core sections are kept narrow to eliminate sheer stress between the inner and outer hull skins. The inner and outer skins are linked at the spraystrakes sections. The hull is supported with a grid of internal bulkheads, mechanically fastened and laminated with 2400g/m of fibreglass. The bonding area of the hull is no less than 200mm on either side of the bulkhead.

The deck is bonded to the hull and glass fibred to the bulkheads to achieve a monocoque design. The centreline of the hull is overlapped along the entire length to double the thickness and strength. The keelson hollow is filled with continuous rovings and the outer section protected by and aluminium channel. The transom is massively reinforced with the longitudinal bulkheads laminated to the transom with 2400g/m on each side. All materials are independently approved by Lloyds.

Stainless Steel
All stainless steel fittings used by Gemini are of 316 or 304 grade.

Hypalon/PVC
The tubes are made from either PVC or Hypalon depending on the customers order. PVC is a plastic based material providing limited UV resistance, lasting up to 15 years if cared for properly. Gemini chooses Pennel Orca® Hypalon as a superior synthetic rubber based material with Hypalon protective outer coatings and is regarded as the industry standard for inflatable tubes. Pennel Orca® Hypalon complies with ISO 9002 and offers far superior UV and Fuel resistance properties to PVC.

CE Sales Within The European Community
Nine Gemini models have been examined, tested and passed in terms of European Community directive 94/25/EC and have been certified to exhibit the CE mark. This ensures that they are legally marketable within the European Community. These models are the Zapcat, Surf 400, GRX 420, and the Waveriders 380, 470, 505, 550, 600, and 730.
